New Delhi: Important news for customers planning to purchase a luxury car. BMW Group India has announced a price increase for its cars. The company is going to increase the prices of all its models from April 1, 2026. This increase will be approximately 2% and will affect both local and imported (CBU) vehicles.

What is reason behind price increase?

According to the company, raw materials, logistics, and other operational costs are continuously increasing. This has led to an increase in the cost of car production. Company CEO Hardeep Singh Brar stated that demand in the Indian market remains strong, but a price increase has become necessary to offset the rising costs.

Which models will be affected?

This increase will affect almost all BMW and MINI models. BMW's locally produced models include the 3 Series Long Wheelbase, 5 Series Long Wheelbase, 7 Series, X1, X3, X5, X7, M340i, iX1 Long Wheelbase, and 2 Series Gran Coupe.

Imported models such as the M2, M4, M5, M8 Competition Coupe, i5, i7, i7 M70, iX, Z4 M40i, and XM plug-in hybrid will also become more expensive.

Moreover, MINI models such as the Cooper S, Countryman E, JCW Countryman All4, Countryman SE, and Convertible will also be affected by the price increase.

Why do car prices increase annually?

Price revisions are common in the auto industry at the beginning of a new financial year. This is primarily due to rising raw material prices, currency exchange rate fluctuations, and increased production costs. Several other auto companies have recently increased vehicle prices for this reason.

2025 was a great year for BMW

The year 2025 was a very successful year for BMW Group India. The company sold a total of 18,001 cars during this period, a 14% increase over the previous year. Notably, the company's electric cars also received a strong response. Sales of models like the BMW i7 and iX1 saw significant growth.

What does this mean for customers?

For customers planning to purchase a BMW or MINI car, this could be the right time. Price increases will come into effect after April 1st, further increasing the cost of vehicles.
