Tata EV Owners to Get On-Demand Mobile Charging Service at Home
New Delhi: To promote electric vehicles, Tata.ev, the electric mobility unit of Tata Motors, has launched a new initiative. The company has partnered with Hopcharge, a mobile EV charging service provider. Under this initiative, electric vehicle owners in the National Capital Region (NCR) will now have the convenience of charging their cars from the comfort of their homes.
Under this partnership, EV owners will be able to book charging sessions through a dedicated digital platform. After booking, a mobile charging van will arrive directly at the customer's location and charge the vehicle there.
This facility eliminates the need for vehicle owners to travel to a charging station. This service will be especially useful for those who do not have access to charging facilities at home or face parking problems.
Tata.ev stated in its official LinkedIn post that in collaboration with Hopcharge, the on-demand charging van service has been launched in NCR. This is a convenient option for customers who do not have access to a dedicated parking space or a home charger.
The company also stated that customers can contact their nearest Tata.ev dealership for more information about this service.
A special promotional program is also being run as part of this scheme. Under this scheme, customers purchasing Tata electric cars will be offered free doorstep charging for a limited time.
However, this offer is subject to certain terms and conditions. Interested customers can avail this offer by contacting their nearest Tata.ev dealer.
The lack of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles remains a major challenge in India's major cities. In such a situation, the mobile charging van facility can be an easy and effective solution.
The primary objective of this initiative is to promote the use of electric vehicles in urban India and provide convenient charging options to customers.
Hopcharge, a specialist in mobile EV charging services, will operate this network. The company will manage on-demand charging vans in NCR, saving Tata EV owners both time and effort.
Experts believe that such initiatives can play a vital role in increasing the acceptance of electric vehicles in India and further accelerate EV adoption in the future.
