Renault Duster 2026 Launch on March 17
New Delhi: French automaker Renault is preparing to strengthen its foothold in the Indian market. Under its new product strategy, the company plans to launch new models continuously in the coming years. In this regard, two major announcements are scheduled to be made in the next 10 days. On March 10th, the company will unveil its new concept SUV, the Bridger, while the new-generation Renault Duster will be launched on March 17. With these two models, the company aims to make a fresh start in the Indian market.
Renault has announced the launch of its new product strategy from 2026. The company aims to achieve a 3 to 5 percent market share in India over the next five years. Under this strategy, a new model will be launched every year, starting with the third-generation Duster.
The new-generation Renault Duster is expected to feature a modern design, premium interior, and several new features. Initially, this SUV will be offered with two turbo petrol engine options.
The first will be a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine, which will generate around 163 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The second will be a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, which will produce around 100 bhp and 160 Nm of torque.
All variants will come standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 1.3-liter turbo engine will also be offered with a 6-speed DCT automatic transmission. The company may also add a Duster with a 1.8-liter petrol-hybrid engine to the lineup by Diwali 2026.
Renault is set to unveil its new concept SUV, the Bridger, on March 10th. Teasers reveal the SUV's square and strong silhouette, which appears to be heavily inspired by the Land Rover Defender.
It features distinctively designed taillamps, a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, and a "Bridger Concept" badge at the rear. The company hasn't yet shared its full specifications, but it's being described as an urban off-roading SUV.
According to reports, the Bridger is expected to be less than 4 meters in length and will be designed and developed in India. It's believed this SUV could compete with the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar 3-Door.
It's likely to be powered by the Renault Kiger's 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine (100 bhp).
Overall, the coming 10 days will be crucial for the Indian auto market, as these two Renault SUVs will determine the direction of the company's new strategy.
