Suzuki India Records Growth Across Markets; What’s Fueling Demand?

New Delhi: Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the Indian arm of Suzuki Motor Corporation, recorded steady performance in April 2026. The company began the new financial year with balanced growth across domestic and international markets.

Overall Sales Performance

SMIPL reported total sales of 1,17,514 units in April 2026, compared to 112,948 units in April 2025, reflecting a 4 percent year-on-year increase. The growth highlights consistent demand across its product portfolio.

Domestic and Export Growth

Domestic sales stood at 98,004 units, rising from 95,214 units last year, marking a 3 percent increase. Exports showed stronger momentum with 19,510 units shipped in April 2026, compared to 17,734 units in the same month last year, registering a 10 percent rise.

Management Commentary

Deepak Mutreja, Vice President  Sales & Marketing, SMIPL, stated that the company has started the financial year on a steady note with growth across markets, reflecting customer trust and stable demand. He added that Suzuki remains focused on improving customer engagement and strengthening relationships through targeted initiatives.

Spare Parts Business Growth

The company’s spare parts segment also performed strongly, generating revenue of INR 915.90 million in April 2026. This marks a 14 percent growth over the previous year, driven by rising after-sales demand and service network expansion.

Product Updates and Initiatives

During the month, SMIPL introduced the Burgman Street “One and Only” edition and updated the Avenis Special Edition with a new Pearl Glacier White and Metallic Oort Grey colour option. These updates aim to expand customer choice in the scooter segment.

Milestones and Brand Engagement

The company celebrated 20 years of manufacturing in India, marking a key milestone in its operations. It also gained recognition for its Suzuki Matsuri event in Mumbai, which set records for the largest gathering of a single scooter model and highest deliveries in a single day. Additionally, the V-Strom Experience Day in Kolkata offered riders a dedicated engagement platform.

With stable sales growth, expanding exports, and stronger after-sales performance, SMIPL continues to strengthen its position in India’s competitive two-wheeler market through product updates and customer-focused initiatives.
