New Delhi: Tata Motors on Tuesday launched the all-new Tata Sierra EV in India at a starting price of Rs 18.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on the company's Acti.ev+ platform, the electric SUV comes with two battery pack options, a claimed driving range of up to 665km, and a host of premium features.

The Sierra EV will compete with models such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti Suzuki eVitara and VinFast VF6.

Two Battery Options, AWD Variant

The Sierra EV is available with 63kWh and 75kWh battery packs. The larger battery offers a claimed 665km (MIDC) range, while the 63kWh version delivers up to 565km on a full charge.

Rear-wheel drive comes as standard, while select variants feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup producing 504Nm of torque. Tata claims the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds in Boost Mode.

Using a 120kW DC fast charger, the Sierra EV can add up to 263km of range in 15 minutes, while charging from 20% to 80% takes around 26 minutes. Tata is also offering a 15-year battery warranty.

Feature-Packed Cabin

The SUV gets a triple-screen dashboard, 12-speaker JBL Black audio system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, digital key, connected car technology, OTA updates and Level 2 ADAS.

Other highlights include Auto Park Assist, DrivePay, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging support. Six airbags are offered as standard.

Positioned Between Curvv EV and Harrier EV

The Sierra EV slots between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata Motors' electric vehicle portfolio. With its long driving range, premium equipment, AWD capability and competitive pricing, the company is targeting buyers looking for a feature-rich electric SUV in the mid-size segment.
