While some customers find this design modern and premium, safety experts consider it inconvenient and potentially dangerous.
Reports indicate that the Chinese government has become increasingly concerned about this trend. The country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is preparing to mandate separate physical switches for important safety features. Under the proposed regulations, essential functions such as turn signals, hazard lights, gear selection, and emergency calls may require separate buttons at least 10x10 mm in size.
These regulations aim to ensure that drivers can quickly access essential controls without distraction.
