Patna: Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnia and a leader with a strong public following, has launched a scathing attack on the Mahagathbandhan’s strategy and ticket distribution.
He bluntly stated, “The Mahagathbandhan has fielded duplicate candidates in 12 constituencies across the state. Can an alliance succeed this way?” His statement clearly indicates his dissatisfaction with the current state of the Mahagathbandhan.
Yadav further stated, “Those in charge of the alliance need to establish coordination. The way the ticket distribution has been done is completely disorganized and against the sentiments of the workers. This has only created confusion and demoralized the grassroots workers.”
He also explicitly targeted the Congress party, saying, “The Congress party should now introspect. It must consider whether it is acting in accordance with public sentiment or is merely preoccupied with power politics.”
Pappu Yadav’s statement comes at a time when questions are being raised about the unity of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar. Disagreements over seat-sharing in various constituencies and the displeasure of local leaders are already being discussed. In such a situation, Pappu Yadav’s open outreach further exposes the internal conflict within the alliance.
Political analysts believe that the impact of Pappu Yadav’s statement will be clearly visible in the Seemanchal region, where his support base is strong. The message among his supporters is that he is pursuing politics of principles, not just power.
It remains to be seen how the Congress and other constituent parties react to this statement, and whether they introspect on Pappu Yadav’s remarks or whether the situation of conflict deepens.
