Patna: In an unanticipated incident, a one year old child bit a cobra while playing at his home in Bettiah. As a result a child felt unconscious while the cobra died, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

It is reported that the child Govinda mistook the cobra as a toy and bit it. After biting the cobra the child was rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) and then referred to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital where he is out of danger.

Govinda bit the cobra so strongly that the serpent was ripped into two halves and died.

What is miraculous about this bizarre incident that the child is fine while the cobra has died after the child's bite.

Hospital Version

"The boy, Govind Kumar, was referred here yesterday by the primary health centre close to his village where he was rushed by family members after he fainted soon after chewing on the live snake," said Deputy Superintendent of JMCH Devikant Mishra.

"Family members claim he caught hold of their snake at their house, in Mohachchhi Bankatwa village under Majhaulia block. He was spotted with the serpent by his grandmother and by the time she could intervene, the reptile was bitten by the child. The cobra lay dead on the floor while the child also fell unconscious", added Mishra.

Talking to media Mishra said that the child has not yet shown any signs of venom infection and is still undergoing treatment. He further said that the child is out of danger.

The child's grandmother told the media that a two-foot-long cobra entered the house on Friday, after the child picked it up mistaking it for a toy.

Some of the villagers said that perhaps the child was agitated when the snake came too close to him resulting the child to pick it up and bite it into two.
