Patna: Four teenagers were killed and two seriously injured when they were returning from the Dussehra fair on the Katihar-Jogbani railway line near the Javanpur crossing on Friday morning, around 5 a.m., near the Javanpur crossing.
According to information received regarding the incident, four teenagers were tragically killed and one seriously injured after being hit by the Vande Bharat Express train at around 5 am on Friday morning.
The injured have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital, Purnia. The accident occurred near the Kasba Javanpur railway crossing on the Katihar-Jogbani railway line.
It is reported that all those who were hit by the Vande Bharat train, which was traveling from Jogbani, Araria, to Danapur, Patna, were returning from the Dussehra fair.
The deceased teenagers had come to Kasba to attend the Dussehra fair.
The deceased and the injured have been identified as residents of Chandpur Bhangaha in the Banmankhi block of Purnia district.
They worked at a makhana factory in Purnia. A mobile phone was also recovered from the scene.
According to the Kasba police station and the RPF team, who arrived after the incident, the teenagers had come to Kasba to attend the Dussehra fair. The incident is reported to have occurred around 5 am on Friday.
The Railway Police Station stated that the deceased teenager's family has been informed of the incident. The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
