Nitish Kumar’s Son Nishant Set to Join JD(U)
Patna: A new twist is being witnessed in Bihar politics. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, is soon to enter active politics. The JDU has confirmed that Nishant Kumar will officially join the party on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, he held an important meeting with senior party leaders and young MLAs.
This meeting was held at the residence of JDU National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha. The meeting discussed the party's future strategy and how to further strengthen the organization. Political experts believe that this meeting was not merely formal, but also significant in shaping the party's future direction.
Nishant Kumar's entry into politics comes at a time when his father, Nitish Kumar, recently filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha. This move is being seen as a sign of a major political shift after his long tenure as Chief Minister.
According to sources, Nitish Kumar's entry into central politics could lead to new party leadership in Bihar.
JDU leader Neeraj Kumar stated that during a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and MP Sanjay Kumar Jha suggested bringing Nishant Kumar into state politics.
He stated that the party enthusiastically welcomed the proposal, and Nishant Kumar subsequently agreed to join the party. It is reported that after joining the party, he may also undertake political tours across the state.
Nishant Kumar has maintained a low profile in public life so far. He is a software engineer and alumnus of the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
However, his entry into politics has sparked speculation. Political circles are abuzz with speculation that he could be offered the position of Deputy Chief Minister or a key role within the party organization if a new NDA government is formed.
Experts believe that if this happens, it could mark the beginning of a new era of leadership within JDU.
