Opposition and NDA clash over controversial ‘Beedi and Bihar’ tweet; BJP vows to make it an election issue

New Delhi: The GST reforms done by the central government after eight years have brought relief to the public, but the politics of Bihar has heated up after the controversial post of 'B for Bidi and B for Bihar' surfaced from the official Twitter handle of Kerala Congress. This post has created a stir in the politics of not only Bihar but the whole country. All the constituent parties of NDA including BJP have taken a sharp dig at the Congress.

BJP called Congress' tweet an insult to Biharis

The BJP called this tweet comparing the people of Bihar to bidi an insult to all Biharis. The BJP has warned that the opposition will have to face political consequences for this. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad termed it shameful and said that the people of Bihar will give a strong reply to this insult in the assembly elections.

Questions Raised To Rahul Gandhi

Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi whether he does not care about the history and honor of Bihar? He asked whether Rahul Gandhi will compare Bihar to a beedi? At the same time, he also slammed RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, saying that he does not have the courage to condemn this insult.

BJP Warned To Make It A Big Issue In Election

Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad warned Congress and RJD that they will make this matter a big issue in the Bihar elections and expose the opposition. He said that now the Congress and its leaders have insulted the voters of Bihar, which will not be acceptable.

JDU Targeted Tejashwi Yadav

JDU also clarified its stand on this issue and put Tejashwi Yadav in the dock. Although Tejashwi Yadav claimed to be unaware of this post of Congress, he said that tampering with the honor of Bihar will not be tolerated.

'Account May Have Been Hacked'

Senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar clarified that this post cannot be of Kerala Congress and it is possible that his social media account has been hacked. He assured that he will talk to Kerala Congress in this matter.

Kerala Congress apologized

Kerala Congress apologized while removing the controversial post. On X post wrote,  said that his sarcasm on Modi government's policies on GST rates was presented in a wrong way. If anyone is hurt then he apologizes

The government has recently reduced the tax on bidis, while increased the tax on cigarettes, to which this post was made in response.
