Bihar MLA Anant Singh Granted Bail in Dularchand Yadav Murder Case
Patna: In a major relief for Anant Singh, the Patna High Court granted him bail in the Dularchand Yadav murder case today on Thursday. After receiving this relief after nearly four and a half months, he is now expected to be released from jail soon.
The case dates back to October 30, 2025, when Dularchand Yadav was shot and killed during an election campaign in Basavanchak village, under the Ghoswari police station area of Mokama. Dularchand Yadav was previously associated with the RJD and was campaigning for the Jan Suraj Party candidate at the time.
Following the incident, police arrested Anant Singh as the main accused on the night of November 1, 2025. He was produced in court on November 2 and sent to Beur Jail. His bail petitions had already been rejected by lower courts.
The Patna High Court has now accepted his bail plea and ordered his release. This decision is being considered a major legal relief for Anant Singh. However, the trial in the case will continue.
Interestingly, Anant Singh contested and won the election from the Mokama assembly seat while in jail. Recently, on March 16, he attended the assembly to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections, where he expressed hope for an early release.
Following Nitish Kumar's decision to go to the Rajya Sabha, Anant Singh has also indicated that he will not contest further elections. He has stated that his elder son will be fielded from the Mokama seat in the future.
Despite being granted bail, Anant Singh will still have to face the legal process in the case. The Dularchand Yadav murder case has been a major issue in Bihar politics, and the hearing of this case will be closely watched in the coming days.
