In a major setback to RJD, two of its MLAs attended PM Modi’s Gaya event, highlighting internal dissent. The move is seen as a sign of possible rebellion within Bihar’s main opposition party during the election year.
Two RJD MLAs were seen at PM Modi's program in Gaya
New Delhi: In the year of the Bihar assembly elections, Bihar's main opposition party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has suffered a major setback. This setback has come from within the party itself. In fact, during a program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Gaya city of Bihar, two RJD MLAs were seen on his stage. These two MLAs are Vibha Devi from Nawada and Prakash Veer from Rajauli.
Generally, local MLAs are invited under protocol in the programs of the prime minister or chief minister. But the special thing is that this is the first time that RJD MLAs were seen on the stage of the ruling coalition NDA amid the election atmosphere. RJD and its leadership were also strongly criticized from this platform.
According to reports, both these MLAs were already unhappy with the policies and working style of the party. In the last few months, both of them had given statements several times deviating from the party line. Therefore, their participation in PM Modi's program is being considered a public sign of deep dissatisfaction within the RJD.
This incident is being considered very important in Bihar politics. On one hand, the top leaders of RJD are constantly attacking the BJP and the NDA government, while on the other hand, MLAs of their own party are sharing a stage with the Prime Minister. Political analysts believe that this is a sign of growing internal rebellion and a possible breakup in RJD.
After this incident, there is a lot of enthusiasm among NDA supporters, while RJD seems to be adopting a defensive stance. Now all eyes are on whether these two MLAs will continue to make statements against the party or will formally leave RJD and join NDA. This development can pose a big challenge for RJD in the upcoming elections.
