Patna: Sanjay Saraogi, a six-time MLA from Darbhanga, has been appointed as the new Bihar BJP president, replacing outgoing state unit chief Dilip Kumar Jaiswal.

Saraogi has an impressive electoral record, winning six consecutive Assembly elections from Darbhanga in February 2005, October 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025. In the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly Election, he defeated Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) candidate Umesh Sahani by a margin of 24,593 votes, further solidifying his political stature in the state.

His appointment marks a significant phase for the BJP in Bihar, as the party looks to strengthen its organizational base and electoral strategy ahead of future elections.
