Patna: After the NDA secured a majority in the Bihar elections, a new government was formed today. Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time. Meanwhile, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha from the BJP were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.

Along with them, a total of 26 cabinet ministers were sworn in, including 14 from the BJP, 8 from the JDU, 2 from the LJP, and one each from HAM and RLSP. Nine new faces have been included in this NDA cabinet, including Sanjay Kumar Singh from the LJP. Let's find out who Sanjay Kumar Singh is.

Who is Sanjay Kumar Singh?

Sanjay Kumar Singh has been elected MLA from the Mahua assembly constituency. He is a first-time MLA on the Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas (LJP) ticket. Lalu Prasad's son Tej Pratap Yadav contested from this constituency. Sanjay is considered very close to Chirag Paswan. He has also served as the leader of the LJP's parliamentary board.

Sanjay Kumar, 45, has completed his post-graduation and is currently a businessman. He also has assets worth over Rs 7 crore.

Defeated Tej Pratap
The Mahua assembly seat was one of the most talked-about seats in this election. This was because Lalu Yadav's son, Tej Pratap Yadav, was contesting for the first time after leaving the RJD. There was a close contest between Tej Pratap Yadav, Mukesh Roshan, and Sanjay Kumar Singh.

However, Tej Pratap came in third in the election, defeating Sanjay by 51,938 votes. Meanwhile, the current MLA from Mahua, Mukesh Roshan, came in second, defeating Mukesh by 44,997 votes.

Lost in 2020

Sanjay Kumar Singh was elected as an MLA for the first time. He previously lost to Mukesh Roshan from the Mahua seat in the 2020 elections. Sanjay Kumar finished third in the 2020 elections. Sanjay Kumar got only 25,198 votes in this election.
