Chaos erupts at Chandigarh Mahapanchayat
Chandigarh: Amidst the controversy surrounding the suicide of Haryana IPS officer ADGP Y Puran Kumar, the Nyay Sangharsh Morcha organized a Mahapanchayat in Chandigarh, forming a 31-member committee. The Mahapanchayat strongly demanded the removal and arrest of DGP Shatrujit Kapoor. A demand was also made for a Haryana High Court judge to investigate the matter. A 48-hour ultimatum was given to the government, warning that if the DGP is not removed, the agitation will be intensified.
The Mahapanchayat was held at Guru Ravidas Bhawan in Sector 20, where some activists were preparing to march towards the Raj Bhavan. Meanwhile, some people began shouting slogans on the road. However, the organizers clarified that no protest was being held at the moment and that the slogans being raised were personal. Police remained present at the scene and brought the situation under control.

Puran Kumar wife, IAS officer Amneet P Kumar, held a three-hour meeting with Home Department Secretary Dr. Sumita Mishra and other senior officials. She then returned to her official residence. The Haryana government and police are working to obtain her consent. SSP Kanvjeet Kaur is also present at the residence.
The Sangharsh Samiti dismissed rumors of the Haryana government appointing Puran Kumar's daughter as DSP as baseless. They said the government is deliberately trying to spread confusion.
JJP President Dr Ajay Singh Chautala and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala visited Puran Kumar's residence to pay tribute. They met with Amneet P Kumar and expressed their condolences.
