Lucknow: Rinku Singh Rahi, a 2022 batch IAS officer of the UP cadre, has resigned from his post. In his detailed resignation letter, he alleged that he had been denied postings and dignified responsibilities for a long time. He stated that he was only kept associated, but he did not get the opportunity to serve the people.

Sidelined after SDM tenure

Rahi mentioned in his letter that he was sidelined after an action as SDM. Afterward, he continued to receive a salary, but was not given any responsibilities or work. He cited this as a moral issue for him and decided to resign.

Adventurous Background

Rinku Singh Rahi's professional journey has been highly controversial. In 2009, he exposed a major scam, after which seven bullets were fired at him, but he survived. Furthermore, a video of him doing sit-ups during a lawyers' protest in Shahjahanpur went viral, leading to his attachment. Since then, he has not received a new posting.

Allegations of a "Parallel System"

According to sources, Rahi has raised serious questions about the administrative system in his resignation letter. He claimed that a "parallel system" operates alongside the constitutional system, depriving honest and capable officers of the opportunity to work.

Concerns about status of other officers

It is reported that Rahi is not the only officer to have been sidelined. Many honest officers have also been similarly sidelined. This issue is now raising questions about the transparency and functioning of the administrative structure.

Eye on the Government's Response

Following this resignation, all eyes are on the government's response. It remains to be seen what steps are taken in this matter and whether any initiatives are taken to bring the sidelined officers back into active roles.
