FSSAI Bans Dabur From Selling THESE Products With 100% Claim; Full List Here

FSSAI has barred the sale of several Dabur food products over allegedly misleading "100%" claims and labelling violations. Check the complete list of products affected and what the regulator said.

New Delhi: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has prohibited the sale of several Dabur India food products over what it described as misleading "100%" claims and labelling violations. The food regulator said the action was taken after the company allegedly failed to comply despite receiving earlier notices.

According to FSSAI, claims such as "100% Natural," "100% Pure," "100% Purity Guaranteed," and "100% Organic" violate the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018, as they may mislead consumers.

Full List of Dabur Products Covered by the Ban

The prohibition order applies to the following Dabur food products:

• Dabur Honey
• Dabur Himalayan Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
• Dabur Virgin Coconut Oil
• Dabur Sesame Oil
• Dabur Cow Ghee
• Dabur Coconut Water
• Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk

Why Did FSSAI Take Action?

The food regulator said some Dabur products carried absolute claims of purity and naturalness that are not permitted under the existing advertising regulations.

FSSAI also cited specific examples during its inspection. It said Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk was marketed with the claim "100% Purity."

Additionally, Dabur Himalayan Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Dabur Organic Honey were found displaying the Jaivik Bharat logo without a valid FSSAI certification, according to the regulator.

The authority added that the prohibition order was issued after the company did not take corrective action despite previous regulatory notices.

Dabur Responds

Dabur India said it is reviewing the observations made by FSSAI and is examining the product labels identified by the regulator. The company indicated it is in the process of verifying the content and compliance requirements for the affected products.

FSSAI's Wider Crackdown

The action against Dabur is part of a broader enforcement drive by FSSAI against alleged violations of food safety and labelling regulations.

Recently, the regulator also prohibited the sale of selected alcoholic beverages manufactured by Diageo India and Inbrew Beverages, citing the use of artificial or nature-identical flavouring instead of permitted production methods.

FSSAI has also suspended the licence of Matri Drinking Water in Tripura after detecting foreign materials in packaged drinking water. In another case, it issued a prohibition order against Punjab-based Noble Healthcare, alleging that one of its products contained ingredients not permitted under food regulations and a Vitamin C level exceeding the recommended dietary allowance under the ICMR-NIN Guidelines, 2020.
