Ram Mandir Trust Rolls Out New 360-Degree Surveillance System For Donation, Aims Transparency
The Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced a new surveillance system to make the donation system more transparent. The new system includes complete videography of the entire process.
Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced a new surveillance system to make donations at the temple more transparent and accountable, even as investigation into the recent ‘Chanda Chori’.
The trust has started videographing every stage of donation handling from 25th July, from collecting boxes inside the temple to the counting room. The trust has also deployed an eight-member team to oversee the entire process.
According to the senior official of the Trust, 360-degree cameras and SLR cameras are being installed to document each step to ensure that there is a visual record of everything till the donation money is finally counted. This step is taken to enhance the transparency, credibility, and accountability of the money at every stage.
The Trust has also changed the way the temple’s 40-odd donation boxes are emptied. Earlier, multiple boxes were opened together, and now the Trust has decided that donation boxes will be emptied in a different way.
The Trust has also hired two professional videographers. Each step is carried out in the presence of two bank officials, two Trust officials, and two security personnel.
As per the new rules, when the box reaches the counting room, officials from State Bank of India will officially seal it after counting.
The Trust has taken these steps after there was an allegation of ‘Chanda Chori’ and a special SIT has been launched to investigate the matter. Police officials have arrested several accused in the case, and investigation in the investigation is still underway.
The senior Trust officials have further said that the new process will further help in quick audits and addressing complaints regarding the donation process.
