Jaipur: The probe into the tragic death of fourth-grade student Amayra at Neerja Modi School in Jaipur has entered a decisive phase. The education department team is expected to submit its detailed report to the state government on Thursday. Preliminary findings, however, have already revealed concerning details, intensifying the scrutiny on the school and its administration.

Classmates Reveal Reluctance to Attend School

A major revelation has come from Amayra’s classmates. During interviews with the investigation team, two students disclosed that on the day of the incident, Amayra had told them she did not want to come to school.

This statement has gained significance, suggesting that the young student may have been under emotional or psychological stress. The reluctance of a 9-10-year-old child to attend school, coupled with the tragic event that followed, raises serious questions about her well-being and the school environment.

Parents May Be Questioned

The investigation team is likely to speak with Amayra’s parents and close relatives to understand possible underlying reasons for her distress. Officials will probe whether the student faced any pressure or mental strain at school and if there were factors contributing to her hesitation to attend classes. The inquiry seeks to uncover the root causes behind her distress and its potential link to the fatal incident.

Bullying Allegations Against School Administration

Amayra’s parents have accused the school of failing to address repeated bullying complaints. According to them, they had reported harassment incidents in September, as well as a similar issue a year prior. The parents claim the school did not take effective action, raising questions about the administration’s responsibility in safeguarding students and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Preliminary Findings: Abusive Language in Classroom

District Education Officer Ramnivas Sharma, heading the investigation, shared that some students were reportedly using abusive language in class. CCTV footage shows the class teacher addressing the issue. Amayra also approached her teacher twice, though it is unclear whether she was directly subjected to any offensive remarks.

Student Safety Under Spotlight
