Karnal: Police have arrested Yogesh Kapoor, a resident of Nilokheri, from Mumbai Airport in connection with the murder investigation of Biru Valmiki. The arrest was made after a Look-Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him.
Before his alleged connection with the Biru murder case surfaced, Yogesh was already an accused in the Nilokheri firing incident. Police said he was wanted in that case, following which an LOC was issued to prevent him from leaving the country.
In a video shared online before his arrest, Yogesh Kapoor denied any involvement in the Biru Valmiki murder case. He named Harsh, Birbal, and Vansh alias ‘Shooter Samana’ while speaking about the alleged incident.
Yogesh claimed that his role was limited to the Nilokheri shooting case and that he had no connection with Biru’s murder.
He said he had been in Dubai and travelled to Mumbai from there. According to him, he initially planned to escape but later decided to surrender. He also alleged that his online ID had been hacked and was being used by someone else.
Police officials said Yogesh will be produced before a court and will subsequently be taken into police custody for seven days for further questioning.
Investigators are expected to question him regarding his alleged links with the Biru Valmiki murder case and collect further evidence.
According to police, two accused have already been arrested in the Nilokheri firing case, making Yogesh the third accused in that matter.
Police said the LOC was issued against him due to his alleged involvement in the firing incident. Authorities also believe that Yogesh may have important information related to the Biru Valmiki murder investigation.
