A woman and her 13-year-old son were found stabbed to death inside their Govindpuri home in southeast Delhi, with police suspecting robbery after cash and jewellery went missing from the residence.

New Delhi: A 38-year-old woman and her 13-year-old son were allegedly stabbed to death inside their residence in the Govindpuri area of southeast Delhi during what police suspect was a robbery. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, triggering a major investigation in the area.

The victims have been identified as Sharda Sahu, a homemaker, and her son, a Class 7 student. Police said the woman’s husband, Vishnu Sahu, who works as a vendor in weekly fruit and vegetable markets, discovered the bodies after returning home late at night.

Crime Scene and Initial Findings

According to officials, a PCR call was received at Govindpuri police station around 1:11 am from Gali No. 10 in Kalkaji. Police teams, along with senior officers, immediately reached the spot and secured the area.

Investigators found that the front door of the house had been latched from the outside. After entering, the complainant discovered both victims with multiple stab wounds, indicating a violent attack inside the home.

Robbery Angle Under Investigation

During the inspection, police noted that cash and jewellery were missing from almirahs inside the house, strengthening suspicions that the killings were carried out during a robbery attempt.

A crime team and forensic experts from the FSL were called to collect evidence and examine the scene. A case of murder and burglary has been registered, and multiple police teams have been formed to trace the suspects.

Probe Intensifies

Officials said the investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to identify those responsible for the double murder that has shocked the locality and added to concerns over rising violent incidents in the national capital.
