Delhi Shocker: 37-Year-Old Man Killed 3-Year-Old Girl, Dumped Body In Kapashera Drain

Delhi Police has arrested a 37-Year-old man for killing a 3-year-old girl. The murderer dumped the body of girl child into drain after killing.

New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested a 37-year old man for allegedly killing a three-year-old girl whose body was found from a drain in Kapashera.

The Police official stated that a missing complaint regarding the child was received at Kapashera police station on 10th July 2026, after which the police station lodges a FIR under Section 137(2) of BNS and an investigation was launched.

During the investigation Delhi Police got information regarding a body that has been found in the Kapashera drain near FIMT College.

The dead body found in the drain was identified as the missing three-year-old girl.

A crime team inspected the spot, and the post-mortem examination confirmed that child has been killed before her body was dumped in the drain.

During the investigation, the Delhi Police examine the CCTV recording and identified a suspect, Chandan Kumar, 37 who is a resident of Ballia, UP.

On Wednesday. 15 July 2026, a police team raided his hideout in Kapashera village. As per the Delhi Police Chandan Kumar opened fire against police team when they tried to arrest him.

The police official stated that while exercising the right of private defence and to arrest the suspect the police fired one round, injuring Kumar in his left leg. He was subsequently arrested.

A country-made pistol and one live cartridge were recovered from his possession police said. During the interrogation Kumar allegedly confessed to murdering the three-year old girl.

The police investigation further revealed that the accused was victim’s neighbour and lived in the same building as her.

Kumar was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment after his arrest.

Police told to media that Kumar works as a tailor and had been living in Kapashera whereas his wife and five-year-old son lives in their native village in Ballia.

The further investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
