New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached a luxury residential property owned by industrialist Anil Ambani in Mumbai as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation.
The property, known as “Abode,” is located in the upscale Pali Hill area of the city and has been valued at approximately ₹3,716.83 crore. The attachment was carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Officials confirmed that the action is linked to an investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving a company belonging to Ambani’s business group.

The investigation is related to alleged bank fraud involving Reliance Communications, a company that was once a major player in India’s telecom sector.
According to officials, the probe is examining financial transactions and loan-related dealings connected with the company and other associated entities.
Authorities suspect that funds obtained through loans may have been diverted, prompting a detailed investigation under the country’s anti-money laundering laws.
With the latest attachment of the Mumbai property, the total value of assets seized in connection with the case has risen significantly. Officials said the cumulative value of properties and assets provisionally attached in the investigation now stands at around ₹15,700 crore.
These assets include various properties and financial holdings linked to entities being examined as part of the ongoing probe.
The attached property, ‘Abode’, is a 17-storey luxury tower located in Mumbai’s prominent Pali Hill neighbourhood. Standing approximately 66 metres tall, the building is known for its upscale design and prime location. The property has been considered one of the most prominent residential assets associated with the businessman.
Authorities indicated that the investigation is still underway and further actions may follow depending on the findings of financial scrutiny. Under the PMLA, attached assets remain under provisional seizure until adjudication proceedings determine whether they are linked to proceeds of crime.
The development marks another significant step in the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities connected with the telecom company and related entities.
