Greater Noida: In a most horrifying and terrible incident Nikki Bhati was allegedly beaten brutally and then set on fire by her husband Vipin Bhati and in-laws at their home in Sirsa village, Greater Noida, on Thursday might, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The 26-year-old Nikki was allegedly burnt alive over dowry demands have been arrested, police said on Monday.

A case had been registered against the four at Kasna Police Station on August 22 under sec ions 103(1) (murder), 115(2) voluntarily causing hurt), and 61(2) (attempting to commit offences punishable with life Imprisonment or others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

As soon as this news of horrendous murder reached Nikki's parents, all hell broke upon the family gripping the entire area in the waves of shock.

Now a shocking revelation has come from Nikki's father Bhikhari Singh who has alleged that Nikki has been facing torture and escalating dowry demands since her marriage in 2016. He said they had already given a Scorpio SUV, a motorcycle, and gold jewellery to her in-laws at the time of marriage but their greed was increasing day by day and finally they demanded Rs 36 lakh in cash and even a luxury car.

Bhikhari Singh said that his daughters Kanchan and Nikki were married to brothers Rohit Bhati and Vipin Bhati, respectively, in 2016. He said that since then they have been torturing both the daughters and demanding dowry.

Sister Kanchan Was Eyewitness

Nikki's elder sister Kanchan was there when Nikki was being beaten and set ablaze and has seen all this torture. She told reporters that Nikki was assaulted in front of her minor son.

Kanchan further told the police that Nikki was allegedly doused with a flammable liquid and set on fire. According to police Nikki succumbed to her injuries while she was being taken to a hospital in Delhi.

Are Nikki's Parents Equally Guilty?

All this account of Nikki's father Bhikhari Singh and her sister, Kanchan, was in the know of the torture and brutality meted out to Nikki since 2016 along with the continuous demands of dowry by in-laws. Even after knowing all this, why Nikki's parents didn't take proper action against the in-laws? Had they done so at that time, Nikki perhaps would not have had to face the torture for about 10 years culminating in her murder.
