New Delhi: An Indian Air Force Wing Commander accused of allegedly leaking sensitive defence information remains in judicial custody more than two months after his arrest. The officer, who was arrested on May 30, has not yet applied for bail and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
The case came to light after intelligence inputs received by the Indian Air Force led to an investigation by the IAF and Delhi Police. The officer has been booked under the Official Secrets Act for allegedly sharing classified information.

According to sources, the IAF’s intelligence wing had been monitoring the officer after receiving specific inputs about suspicious activities. Following the investigation, the officer was apprehended by Air Force Police and later handed over to Delhi Police. Officials said the IAF had kept him under surveillance before taking action.
The force has maintained that it follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any activity that could compromise national security.
Investigators suspect that the officer may have been targeted through a honey-trap operation allegedly linked to a Pakistani intelligence operative. According to police sources, the officer was allegedly contacted through social media by a woman suspected of working at the direction of Pakistani intelligence handlers.
The investigation claims that communication took place through online chats and video calls, during which sensitive defence-related information was allegedly shared through digital platforms.

Delhi Police officials are also examining whether the case is connected to a larger espionage network involved in collecting military information. Investigators are reportedly looking into digital evidence, communication records and other material collected during the probe to establish the full extent of the alleged activities.
Police also suspect that the officer was allegedly asked to install an application on a colleague’s mobile phone. Investigators are examining whether the application could have been used for data theft, location tracking or monitoring communications.
After completing the initial investigation, Delhi Police filed a chargesheet before the concerned court on July 30. The case has now entered the judicial stage, and further proceedings will continue based on the evidence presented before the court. Sources said the officer has not moved any bail application so far and continues to remain in custody.
