Jharkhand: 1 CRPF jawan martyred, 2 naxals gunned down in encounter in Bokaro; Encounter still going on

Ranchi: An encounter is going on between the police and the Naxalites since early Wednesday morning at Jilka hill in Siyari Panchayat of Gomia block of Bokaro district.

In this encounter the security forces gunned down two Maoists during the encounter. A jawan of the CPRF's CoBRA battalion was also killed in the exchange of fire.

The encounter is still going on. Air ambulance is being called to take the injured. The soldiers have killed two Maoists so far in this encounter.

According to the local people, the encounter started at around 6:30 am on Wednesday and the sound of gunfire was heard for some time. During this time, there was an atmosphere of panic in the area and the villagers remained hiding in their homes. A large number of security forces are moving towards the spot regarding the encounter.

Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh said that after the encounter, a search operation is going on in the area.
