
14-Year-Old Girl Dies During Transfer to Hospital in Kishtwar, Teacher Detained in Case Linked to Pregnancy (Img: Pinterest)
Kishtwar: A 14-year-old girl died while being shifted from Kishtwar to Doda for medical treatment related to a pregnancy termination procedure, officials said on Thursday.
According to authorities, the minor girl from the Chatroo area of Kishtwar was reportedly pregnant, and the pregnancy was allegedly linked to a teacher. The girl was being taken to a hospital in Doda for further medical care when her condition deteriorated during the journey.
Officials said she passed away while being transported to the hospital.
Following the incident, police registered a case and took the teacher into custody. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the pregnancy as well as the events surrounding the girl’s death.
The investigation is also examining the alleged involvement of the teacher and other aspects of the case.
Officials have not disclosed the identity of the girl, in accordance with legal provisions that protect the privacy of minors involved in sensitive cases.
Authorities are continuing their probe to establish the complete sequence of events and determine further legal action based on the findings.
