Pak Operative Procured Arms, Ammunition: NIA raids 12 locations across 4 states in terror conspiracy case

The NIA carried out raids across four states after uncovering a suspected Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy involving drone-delivered weapons, explosives, and plans for attacks in major Indian cities.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency on Friday carried out coordinated raids at 12 locations across Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Rajasthan in connection with a suspected Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy involving drone-delivered weapons and explosives.

According to officials, the searches are part of an ongoing investigation into a cross-border terror network allegedly linked to Pakistani operative Jasvir Chaudhary and his Indian associates.

Raids Conducted Across Multiple States

Investigators conducted searches at five locations in Uttar Pradesh, three in Maharashtra, and two locations each in Bihar and Rajasthan. The raids targeted individuals suspected of acting as facilitators, logistical supporters, and local operatives connected to the alleged terror module.

Officials said the operation began early Friday morning and continued throughout the day as investigators examined evidence and questioned suspects.

Arms and IEDs Allegedly Delivered Through Drones

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly procured a large consignment of arms, ammunition, and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) through drone drops across the India-Pakistan border.

The agency suspects that the weapons and explosives were intended for planned attacks in Punjab, Delhi, and other parts of the country. Security officials believe the conspiracy was designed to create panic and cause large-scale damage through coordinated explosions at multiple locations.

Investigation Originated in Punjab

The case was initially registered by Punjab Police after the State Special Operations Cell received intelligence inputs on February 10 regarding a possible terror plot.

Authorities alleged that Indian associates linked to the network had received arms and explosives delivered through drones. Following the preliminary investigation, Punjab Police registered a formal case before it was transferred to the NIA on March 21 due to suspected international links and national security concerns.

Wider Terror Network Under Investigation

Officials said the NIA is now probing the broader network behind the conspiracy, including sleeper cells, support systems, and possible financial or logistical links.

The agency also highlighted growing concerns over the use of drones for smuggling arms and explosives across the India-Pakistan border, describing it as a serious security challenge.

Earlier this week, the NIA filed a chargesheet against nine accused, including two Pakistani nationals, in connection with the 2025 grenade attack on a women police station in Sirsa, Haryana.
