Attack on Local Youth Sparks Outrage

The violence reportedly began on the evening of January 22, between 7:00 and 7:30 PM, when Sohel Thakur, a local youth, was attacked by a group of individuals in Tarana. He sustained serious head injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital.

Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to a hospital in Ujjain. Reports indicate that Thakur is associated with the Bajrang Dal, a Hindu nationalist organization.

VHP leader Vishnu Patidar condemned the attack, stating, “Sohel Thakur was struck from behind with a stick. FIRs have been filed against four to five named individuals, and five arrests have been made. However, the main accused, who inflicted the head injury, remains at large. We had warned the administration last night that results were expected by morning, and discussions are ongoing. The key question is when the primary accused will be apprehended.”
