Kanpur: Once again the negligence of the police has come to the light in Kanpur. Dharmendra Verma, a cunning accused of Babupurwa police station area, who was absconding in a case of theft and burglary, reached the court on Friday to surrender. He was hopeful that he would get bail, but when the court rejected his bail plea, he dodged the police and escaped from the court premises.

Dharmendra Verma, who is a resident of Nayapurwa Bagahi, was absconding for a long time. It is being said that his lawyer had assured him that he could get bail on surrendering. With this confidence, he reached the court with four other accused. But as soon as the bail was cancelled, he disappeared from the eyes of the police.

Police Begin Search Operations

Immediately after the incident, the police blocked the court and surrounding areas and conducted a search operation, but no trace of the accused was found. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, court clerk Sandhya gave a written complaint against the accused in the Kotwali police station. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a report against the accused Dharmendra Verma and started further legal action.

Questions Raised On Security Arrangements

At present, several police teams are raiding in search of him. Also, this case has raised serious questions on the security arrangements of the court premises. Action is also being taken against the negligent policemen.
