Rapid Rail Project Approved Train Wil Run Soon Between Kanpur and Lucknow
Lucknow: Some big good news has come for those traveling between Kanpur and Lucknow. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) gave the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the long-awaited Lucknow-Kanpur Rapid Rail project on Wednesday. Earlier, the Kanpur and Unnao Development Authority also gave their approval.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent, after this important step, the construction work of this project is now likely to accelerate. This high-speed rail corridor has been named 'Namo Corridor,' and it will be developed on the lines of the Meerut-Delhi Rapid Rail.
Routes
The route will start from Amausi Airport and go to Ganga Barrage in Kanpur via Bani, Unnao, Jaitipur, Ajgain, and Magrawara. In the future, it will also be connected to the metro stations of Lucknow and Kanpur, which will make the movement even easier.
Specialty
The most important thing about the project is that this route will be developed along with the road and the railway so that the speed of the train is not affected despite bad weather like fog or rain. At present, it takes about one and a half to two hours to travel from Lucknow to Kanpur by road, but the Rapid Rail will cover this distance in less than half the time. The speed of this train will be 160 kilometers per hour.
The completion of this project is expected to significantly increase regional trade, education, and employment opportunities. Also, the pressure of road traffic will be reduced, and air pollution will also decrease. This project will not only increase the facilities of the people, but it is also considered a big step towards green and sustainable development.
Target
The idea of this project was first presented by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) in the year 2015. In the year 2021, the then Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar got its draft prepared, and in the year 2022, many important meetings were also held on it at the government level. However, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now the project is gaining momentum again, and the target is to complete it in the next five years.
Conditions
The Lucknow Development Authority has given the NOC on the condition that the project should be in line with the master plan and there should be no violation of it. Now that the approval of all the concerned authorities has been received, it is expected that the project will soon come on the ground and the travel experience between Lucknow and Kanpur will change completely.
