Uttar Pradesh: Husband arrested after killing wife over minor dispute in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur: Police arrested the husband who was absconding after killing his wife in Pipraich police station area of Gorakhpur on Friday.

According to Dynamite News report, the accused killed his wife by hitting her with a pipe handle in a minor dispute. This incident created a sensation in the area. This action was taken under the campaign being run to arrest crime and criminals on the instructions of Senior Superintendent of Police Gorakhpur Raj Karan Nayyar.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police North and supervision of Area Officer Chauri Chaura, the team led by Police Station Incharge Pipraich Purushottam Anand Singh arrested the accused. Police said that the accused has been identified as Sunny Nishad son of late Chhedi Nishad resident of Jungle Chhatradhari Tola Shahpur, Police Station Pipraich. A case has been registered against him under FIR No. 527/2025 Section 103(1) BNS.

Details of the incident

Actually: On July 11, 2025, the plaintiff had given a complaint in Pipraich police station that her sister was murdered by her husband by hitting her with a pipe handle. As soon as the information was received, the police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem and registered a case and started investigation. The accused was absconding after the murder, after which the police team was continuously searching for him.

Pipraich SHO Purushottam Anand Singh said that the accused was arrested by raiding on the information of the informer. The accused is being interrogated and further legal action is being taken. Police say that the accused has confessed to the murder and took this step in anger in a family dispute.

SHO Purushottam Anand Singh, Sub Inspector Ashutosh Verma, Trainee Sub Inspector Parmish Pandey, Head Constable Narvadeshwar Shukla were included.
