In an emotional social media note, Alia said the events of the past few days had left her heartbroken but that the courage shown by students had also given her hope.

She said every student participating in the agitation represented not only an individual dream but also the hopes of families who had made countless sacrifices for their education.
The actor said she was humbled by the protesters’ resolve and described their determination as a reminder for the country to listen more carefully to young people.
She stressed that students would inherit and shape India’s future and ended her message by saying the movement was “for the students” and “by the students.”
