Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Govardhan Asrani is no longer with us. He was known as Asrani. On Monday, October 20th, Diwali, Asrani breathed his last after a prolonged illness.
He was 84 years old. His passing has left the film industry and fans in mourning. Now, an emotional video of Asrani has surfaced. This video was taken just ten days before his death.
Asrani danced at an event
Since news of Asrani’s death broke on social media, numerous tributes have emerged celebrating his vitality. This video includes a video in which he can be seen dancing at an event 10 days before his death. Singer Pinky Maidasani shared this video of Asrani on Instagram.
In it, she is seen performing a Sindhi song, with senior actor Asrani on stage. Initially, Asrani was seen standing with the support of others. Later, he began dancing happily to the music.
Sharing the video, Pinky wrote, “Just 10 days ago, at the last event, he was on stage, dancing to Sindhi tunes. Wow, what a full life he lived, a true gem, our own legend, Asrani Sahab.” Tributes flooded the comments section of Pinky’s post. Many fans and followers praised Asrani’s liveliness. Some remembered him as “entertaining” and a “great actor.”

In a career spanning over five decades, Asrani became one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved faces. Renowned for his impeccable comic timing and expressive performances, he appeared in over 350 films. Among his many memorable roles, his portrayal of a jail warden in the 1975 classic “Sholay” remains an enduring part of Indian pop culture. In recent years, he appeared in films such as “Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” “Dhamaal,” “Bunty Aur Babli 2,” “R…Rajkumar,” “All the Best,” and “Welcome.” He is survived by his wife, Manju Asrani, his sister, and his nephew; the couple had no children.
