Baahubali: The Epic Smashes Rs 10 Crore Pre-Sales, Becomes Biggest Indian Re-Release Ever

Mumbai: SS Rajamouli’s monumental saga Baahubali has made a triumphant return to theatres, this time as a single, re-edited, and remastered film titled Baahubali: The Epic.

Combining Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), the new version delivers the story of Mahishmati in one seamless cinematic experience.

Produced by Shobu Yarlagadda under Arka Media Works, the film features Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, and Nassar in their iconic roles. The remastered version uses cutting-edge enhancements such as Dolby Atmos sound, IMAX upscaling, and newly refined editing, promising a completely immersive experience for both new viewers and longtime fans.

“This will be a whole new experience for Baahubali fans,” producer Shobu Yarlagadda said, emphasizing that the film “has been re-envisioned using advanced technologies to elevate the grandeur of Rajamouli’s vision.”

Record-Breaking Pre-Sales Worldwide

Baahubali: The Epic has smashed pre-release records, becoming the biggest-ever opening for an Indian film re-release. According to trade sources, the film has already crossed ₹10 crore in pre-sales — ₹5 crore from India and another ₹5 crore from North America.

The feat surpasses the previous benchmarks set by Vijay’s Ghilli and Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja. For comparison, Ghillireportedly earned between ₹7.9 crore and ₹10 crore worldwide during its re-release, while Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singhcollected ₹8 crore, and Khaleja ₹6.85 crore.

Trade analysts expect Baahubali: The Epic to not only dominate the re-release charts but also set global records for an Indian film comeback.

Teaser for “Baahubali: The Eternal War” Attached to Re-Release

Alongside the re-release, fans were treated to a special surprise- the theatrical teaser of Baahubali: The Eternal War, a stylised 3D animated project expanding the universe of Mahishmati.

Announcing the project, producer Shobu Yarlagadda wrote on X, “I am thrilled to finally share something we’ve been working on in stealth for nearly two years… This project will set up the Baahubali franchise for its next phase.”

Kantara Chapter 1 breaks records, surpasses Baahubali and Salaar with massive Box Office success

Directed by animation filmmaker Ishan Shukla, Baahubali: The Eternal War boasts a staggering ₹120 crore budget, nearly matching that of Baahubali: The Beginning. The two-part animation film is being produced in collaboration with Indian and international studios, aiming to become a first-of-its-kind animated feature from India.

The teaser, attached to Baahubali: The Epic screenings, offers a glimpse into this ambitious world-building effort. The full teaser, poster, and project details will be unveiled online next week.

A New Chapter for Indian Cinema’s Greatest Saga

With Baahubali: The Epic breaking new records in pre-sales and The Eternal War expanding its cinematic universe, the Baahubali franchise continues to redefine Indian storytelling on a global scale. What began as a fantasy epic a decade ago now stands poised to enter its next era one that blends nostalgia, technology, and visionary creativity.
