New Delhi: Rishabh Shetty's film "Kaantara: Chapter 1" created a sensation as soon as it hit theaters. Released on Dussehra, the film continues to attract audiences. It is a prequel to the 2022 superhit "Kaantara," and its script and screenplay have received tremendous praise from both audiences and critics.

Strong Performance Despite Heavy Competition

The film's story and background

The film is based on events before Kantara and takes place approximately 1000 years ago. It depicts the conflict between 'Bereme' (Rishabh Shetty), a warrior from Kantara, and 'Kulashekhar' (Gulshan Devaiah), the new king of the Kadamba Kingdom. The king seeks to seize the resources of Kantara's forests, which Bereme challenges.

OTT Release and Future Plans

In March 2024, it was announced that Amazon Prime Video would release a digital version of the film after its theatrical release. According to reports, a deal worth ₹125 crore has been struck for the OTT rights.

The film will be released first in four South Indian languages ​​(four weeks after release), while the Hindi dubbed version will be made available eight weeks later—by the end of November.
