New Delhi: Ranveer Singh's much-awaited film 'Dhurandhar' has had a fantastic start at the box office. The film earned Rs 27 crore on its first day, proving it to be one of the biggest opening films of the year. With this opening, 'Dhurandhar' has also become Ranveer Singh's highest-grossing film to date.
According to Sacnilk's report, 'Dhurandhar' earned Rs 27 crore on its first day. Previously, Ranveer's biggest openings were 'Padmaavat' (Rs 24 crore) and 'Simmba' (Rs 20.72 crore). With this opening, 'Dhurandhar' has reached the third position among the highest-opening Bollywood films of the year.

The film performed strongest in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. In Delhi-NCR, approximately 40% of seats were filled across 1,371 shows, while in Mumbai, there was approximately 35% occupancy across 1,024 screenings. The average occupancy for the film across the country was 33.81%. More than 4,000 shows were booked on the first day, and evening screenings saw over 55% occupancy.
Besides Ranveer Singh, 'Dhurandhar' features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in prominent roles. The film's female lead, Sara Arjun, has also garnered attention from the audience. The film is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar.
Following the film's release, Deepika Padukone praised Ranveer on her Instagram account. She wrote, "Dhurandhar watched, and it's worth every minute of the 3.34 hours! Go watch it in theaters! So proud of you @ranveersingh!"

After the release of Ranveer's film, the earnings of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ declined. On its eighth day, the film earned only ₹3.70 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹87.35 crore.
The American animated film ‘Zootopia 2’ also performed poorly. On its eighth day, the film earned only ₹75 lakh, reaching a total collection of ₹12.90 crore.
‘Dhurandhar’ has already set a record at the box office on its opening day. Ranveer Singh's stellar performance and the strong cast have made the film popular among audiences. Simultaneously, its impact on the earnings of other films is evident. It has become one of the biggest opening films of the year for Bollywood.
