Dhurandhar 2 arrives with high expectations but delivers a mixed experience. While Ranveer Singh impresses with a powerful performance, the film struggles with a lengthy runtime and weak storytelling in parts.
Dhurandhar 2 Review: Ranveer Singh Dominates
New Delhi: The film Dhurandhar 2 generated immense excitement among audiences from the outset. Following the success of the first installment, audiences had high expectations for this sequel. Advance bookings were strong, but fans were disappointed when preview shows were cancelled in several cities.
The film's story is divided into six chapters and begins with a flashback. Jaskirat Singh Rangi (Ranveer Singh) turns to crime to avenge the injustice done to his family. Later, an IB officer offers him a chance to serve the country, and he embarks on a mission as an agent in Pakistan. The story progresses after the death of Rehman the dacoit, revealing a new chapter of intrigue.
Ranveer Singh completely dominates the film. His action, emotional, and angry scenes are impressive. R. Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi also bring life to their roles. However, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt's roles fell short of expectations.
The film is directed by Aditya Dhar. He has tried to incorporate several references to real events into the story, which makes it interesting. However, the grip and surprises of the first part are lacking this time. The beginning and climax are strong, but the middle section feels a bit stretched.
The film's music is weaker than the first part. Some songs are good, but none are particularly memorable. A romantic song feels forced. The action scenes are good, but at some points feel unnecessarily long.
If you've seen the first part, you should definitely watch this film. However, going in with high expectations may be a bit disappointing. Overall, Dhurandhar 2 is a decent entertainer with some strong moments, but the overall film doesn't quite make the same impact.
