New Delhi: Director Ashwin Kumar's animated mythological drama Mahavatar Narsimha was a smash hit in theaters. Made in Tamil, the film was released in six languages, including Hindi, and received a tremendous response from audiences.

Mahavatar Narasimha (Narsimha OTT Release) opened with only ₹1 crore on its first day of release, but positive word of mouth transformed the film. This is why the film remained in theaters for a full 50 days.

The story of the film is based on Lord Vishnu's devotee Prahlad and the demon king Hiranyakashipu. To protect Prahlad, Lord Vishnu takes the form of Lord Narasimha and ends evil.
