According to Sunil Shetty, Aditya Dhar recognized that people have become accustomed to long-form content on OTT platforms and cleverly delivered that depth on the big screen instead. Sunil noted that the director gave audiences nearly four hours of engaging cinematic content, something rarely attempted in theatres today, and viewers embraced it instantly.
Sunil Shetty did not limit his praise to the director alone. He spoke highly of the film’s cast, calling their performances outstanding. In particular, he applauded Akshaye Khanna, describing him as a brilliant actor and giving him a “perfect ten out of ten” for his role. However, it was Ranveer Singh’s performance that truly stood out for Sunil Shetty.
Sunil Shetty went a step further while praising Ranveer Singh, saying he deserved “ten out of a hundred” for his performance — a statement that clearly highlights how impactful the role was. Ranveer’s portrayal of Hamza deeply impressed him. Sunil explained that Ranveer showed remarkable restraint and emotional control, which is often the hardest thing for an actor to achieve.

He added that portraying patriotism as a hero is relatively easy, as audiences readily connect with it. However, depicting the pain, longing, and emotional struggle of loving one’s country while being away from it — and wanting to do something meaningful — is extremely challenging. According to Sunil, Ranveer executed this layered emotion with exceptional maturity.
Sunil Shetty also expressed excitement for ‘Dhurandhar 2’, saying that he can now imagine Ranveer Singh only in that sequel. He described Ranveer’s performance as “brilliant” and “extraordinary,” and saluted the actor for his dedication. The sequel to Dhurandhar is scheduled for release in March 2026, and work on its teaser and trailer is currently underway.
