New Delhi: Actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has finally addressed the marriage rumours that erupted online after videos of her wearing a mangalsutra and traditional bangles went viral on social media.
The speculation began after Kangana was spotted in a simple peach-coloured kurta paired with green bangles and a mangalsutra during a public appearance in Mumbai. The visuals quickly gained attention online, with many social media users wondering whether the actor had secretly gotten married.

Soon after the clips surfaced, fans flooded social media with questions about Kangana’s personal life and the identity of her supposed husband. The actor’s traditional appearance led to widespread speculation, especially because she has largely kept her private life away from public attention in recent years.
As rumours intensified, Kangana decided to directly respond through her Instagram Stories.
Clarifying the viral images, Kangana said the look was related to a character she is currently portraying for an upcoming film. She added that she was surprised by the amount of attention the pictures received.
In her statement, the actor explained that she has been filming around the city regularly and someone captured a random photograph of her in costume. She further said there was nothing unusual about a married woman’s appearance and reminded people that actors often portray different kinds of characters on screen.
Kangana also assured fans that she would not hide such a major life decision if it ever happened, saying she would never marry secretly.
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in Emergency, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film generated significant attention due to its political backdrop and Kangana’s lead performance.
She is currently working on her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata, directed by Manoj Tapadia. The project also features several actors in key roles and is presently under production.
Despite the online chatter, Kangana’s clarification appears to have put an end to speculation surrounding her personal life, with fans now shifting focus back to her upcoming screen appearances.
