New Delhi: The fashion world has mourned the death of Giorgio Armani. Armani, a pioneer of Milanese ready-to-wear fashion who revolutionized global fashion with his unstructured look, died at his home at the age of 91, his fashion house shared.

Armani Was Battling Undisclosed Illness

Armani had been battling an undisclosed illness for some time, which prevented him from attending his runway show in June. Despite this, he had planned a big event to celebrate 50 years of his signature Giorgio Armani fashion house during Milan Fashion Week this month.

The fashion house said Armani remained involved with his projects until his last days. In an Instagram post, the fashion house wrote, "With deep condolences, the Armani Group announces the passing of its inventor and founder Giorgio Armani. Mr. Armani was always respected and loved by employees and colleagues. He worked until the end and remained dedicated to new projects."
