From Motihari To The UK: Meet Chef Nand Kishor Yadav, Who Is Invited For Royal Garden Party By King Charles III

New Delhi: Bihar-born chef Nand Kishor Yadav has marked yet another achievement in his career by being invited to a Royal Garden Party in Edinburgh, Scotland. The event was hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. A garden party is one of the major events conducted during the royal family’s annual summer visit to Scotland, also called Holyrood Week.

For Chef Nand, it is a personal and proud moment. “It was an extremely proud and humbling experience for me to be invited to the Palace of Holyroodhouse,” he revealed.
Moving from India and establishing his career in the UK made him grateful to be invited to such an important royal event. “I will cherish this memory of being invited to such an important royal event for the rest of my life,” the chef added.

Standing outside the palace also allowed him to reflect on how far he has come. He told Star Mahabharth that he was happy of his Indian roots and his journey in the UK and has more opportunities ahead of him.

Chef Nand, owner of the popular destination pub The White Hart in Holyport near London, views the royal invitation as a personal accolade. It is also a nod to his Indian heritage, his contribution to the UK hospitality industry and the communities he has served over the years.

“I have throughout my career leveraged my culinary talent and hospitality platform to serve communities and to contribute to charitable causes and to give back to those in need,” he said.
For 25 years across India, the US and the UK, Chef Nand has worked across a range of cuisines: Indian, French, Italian, Mediterranean and South American food. He is best known for creating fusion dishes that combine different cultures in the kitchen.

He has also increasingly used his platform to give back to the community. The royal invitation represents a unique moment in Chef Nand’s career and is a source of inspiration for his “Mission Possible” vision, the goal of creating an even greater community connection to The White Hart, rather than just a destination for dining and stay.

Chef Nand was born in Motihari, Bihar, and started his cooking career in 1999. He trained in the strict kitchens of luxury hotels in Rajasthan, where he built his foundation in several different styles of Indian cooking. After working in different luxury hotels in India, Chef Nand moved to the US to work on a Carnival Cruise, working with chefs from all around the world.
In 2007, Chef Nand moved to the UK to refine his fine dining skills. This part of his career also involved Chef Nand working with famous British chef Gordon Ramsay.

Today, Chef Nand is steadily expanding approaches to bring authentic Indian dishes to people in south-east England through Ninaya Catering, which is named after his wife and daughters.
Chef Nand’s invitation to the Royal Garden Party is the latest addition to a well-traveled career that started in Bihar and flourished in some of the most known hospitality spaces in the UK as well as around the world.
