New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s growing role in global innovation while addressing the Bharat Innovates event in Nice, France. Speaking alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, the Prime Minister said India has transformed from being a consumer of global solutions into a nation actively contributing answers to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

India-France Partnership Built on Shared Vision

PM Modi said the relationship between India and France extends beyond traditional diplomacy and trade. According to him, the partnership is rooted in trust, shared values and a common commitment to innovation and progress.

Describing the relationship as a combination of “connection and conviction,” he said both countries have collaborated on major global initiatives, including clean energy, sustainability and emerging technologies. He pointed to projects such as the International Solar Alliance as examples of successful cooperation.

India’s Growing Innovation Ecosystem

Addressing entrepreneurs, investors and technology leaders, Modi said innovation has become a defining feature of modern India. He noted that young innovators across the country are building solutions that not only address local needs but also contribute to global development.

“India is innovating for a sustainable future and for the world,” he said, highlighting the rapid growth of India's startup ecosystem and technology-driven economy.

Bharat Innovates to Connect Talent and Investment

The Prime Minister described Bharat Innovates as a platform designed to connect Indian talent with global opportunities. He said the initiative will help startups and innovators access international investors, research institutions, industry experts and business networks.

The programme aims to showcase promising ideas emerging from India’s universities, technical institutions and startup ecosystem while encouraging cross-border collaboration and investment.

Macron Praises India’s Technological Progress

French President Emmanuel Macron also addressed the gathering and praised India’s achievements in science, technology and innovation. Referring to the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, he said India has demonstrated remarkable capabilities in advanced technology and space exploration.

Macron also congratulated PM Modi on his political milestone and described India’s rise as a global innovation hub as an inspiration for many nations.

The Bharat Innovates event brought together startups, venture capital firms, policymakers and researchers from India, France and other countries, reinforcing efforts to deepen cooperation in innovation, entrepreneurship and future technologies.
