Agra: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday presented his Vision India agenda during a PDA (Vision India) meeting held at ITC Mughal in Agra. Addressing party workers, entrepreneurs and local stakeholders, Yadav outlined his party’s priorities on economic development, employment, education, healthcare and support for small businesses if the Samajwadi Party returns to power in Uttar Pradesh.

Focus on Small Businesses and Economic Growth

Speaking at the event, Akhilesh Yadav said that small traders, artisans and entrepreneurs are the backbone of the state's economy. He stressed that long-term economic growth cannot be achieved without addressing their challenges and strengthening local enterprises.

He said small businesses create employment opportunities and improve the financial condition of families connected with them. Yadav assured that a future SP government would introduce supportive policies, incentives and schemes aimed at helping small industries and businesses expand.

Recalling Achievements of the SP Government

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister highlighted several projects undertaken during his tenure. He said the Lucknow-Agra Expressway was developed under the Samajwadi government and described it as a landmark infrastructure project for the state.

Yadav also referred to the state's cycle track initiative and said the first industrial policy introduced in Uttar Pradesh in 2013 was implemented during the SP government. According to him, the policy continues to influence industrial development and investment planning in the state.

IT City and Tourism Push for Agra

A major announcement during the meeting was Yadav’s proposal to develop an IT City in Agra if the Samajwadi Party forms the government. He said the project would help generate employment and attract investment to the region.

He also promised measures to strengthen Agra’s tourism sector and address traffic congestion through better urban planning. Special attention, he added, would be given to women entrepreneurs and small-scale industries.

Demand for Better Healthcare and Education

Yadav emphasized the need for a major medical college and a university in the Bateshwar region. He said such institutions would provide better educational opportunities and healthcare access to residents, reducing the need to travel to other cities.

Referring to healthcare models developed in Saifai and Noida, he advocated expanding quality medical services across Uttar Pradesh.

Support for Farmers and Artisans

The SP chief also spoke about strengthening traditional industries and handicrafts. He said artisans should be provided with modern technology, design support, skill training and improved marketing opportunities.

He further stressed the importance of ensuring timely payments to farmers and creating a system that supports agricultural growth alongside industrial development.

PDA Means ‘Love, Compassion and Belonging’

Concluding his address, Akhilesh Yadav offered a new interpretation of PDA, saying it stands for “Prem, Daya aur Apnapan” (Love, Compassion and Belonging). He called for greater social harmony and cooperation, saying that a stronger and more prosperous society can be built through mutual respect, compassion and inclusive development.
