New Delhi: One Indian worker was killed and three others injured during one of the largest Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia, the Indian Embassy in Moscow confirmed on Sunday. The strikes, which occurred during the night between Saturday and Sunday, also left dozens of other civilians wounded.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy said its officials visited the site of the attack and met with the injured workers in the hospital, assuring that all necessary assistance is being provided. The identity of the deceased Indian worker has not been disclosed.

“Today in the Moscow region, one citizen of India was killed and three others injured as a result of a drone attack. Embassy staff traveled to the scene and visited the victims in the hospital,” the statement read. “We express our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and are working closely with the company’s management and local authorities to provide all possible support to the victims.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the drone strikes, describing them as a message to Russia to end the ongoing war. Sharing a video of the attacks on X, Zelenskyy praised the precision of Ukrainian forces.

“Grateful to the SBU and all the Ukrainian Defense Forces for their precision. Distance from Ukraine's state border – over 500 km. Concentration of Russian air defense in the Moscow region – the highest. But we overcome it. Glory to Ukraine!” he wrote.

Local authorities reported four fatalities from the attacks, including a woman in Khimki and two men in the village of Pogorelki. The strikes highlight the escalating use of long-range drones in the conflict, with both Russia and Ukraine targeting each other’s territories in recent weeks.
