The Israel Defense Forces alleged that the missile was directly launched by Iran and targeted a residential neighbourhood in the city. In a statement posted on social media, the military accused Tehran of deliberately firing missiles toward civilian areas.
According to the Israeli military, the strike resulted in the deaths of several civilians and caused significant damage to buildings in the affected locality.
