Tehran: Iran has installed the massive P4 processing platform at the Reshadat oil field in the Persian Gulf, marking a major step in the country’s offshore energy development.

Weighing around 6,200 metric tons, the Reshadat P4 platform is being described as one of the largest oil-processing platforms built and installed by Iranian engineers.

The platform was placed in the Persian Gulf using the complex “float-over” method, a highly technical process used for installing large offshore structures without relying on heavy-lift vessels.

Engineers working on the project said construction and offshore operations continued even during the recent imposed war, despite the threat of possible US and Israeli attacks. They noted that offshore facilities damaged in the conflict were brought back into production within just seven to ten days.

The Reshadat oil field, located around 100 kilometers from Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf, mainly produces light crude oil along with associated natural gas. The gas is transported to Lavan for processing, while the field’s output helps meet domestic energy needs and supports Iran’s export supply.
