Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro’s Transportation Infrastructure vertical has secured a significant contract for road development in Dubai, UAE, marking another milestone in its international infrastructure portfolio.
The project involves Phase 1 of the Latifa Bint Hamdan Street improvement initiative, undertaken by UAE authorities. The scope includes upgrading the existing road corridor between Emirates Road (E611) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) to enhance traffic capacity and ease congestion.
As part of the development, the current two-lane dual carriageway will be widened into a four-lane dual carriageway in each direction. A key feature of the project is the construction of a major structural interchange at E311, designed to ensure seamless traffic movement across all directions.
Additionally, the corridor will be extended with a new four-lane dual carriageway along Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The project also includes a dedicated interchange for U-turn movements, improving connectivity and access to developments on both sides of the corridor.
The project is scheduled for completion within 36 months. The contract falls under L&T’s ‘Significant’ order classification, valued between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore.
